Advice for Big Girls

After lunch today Annie asked for a piece of paper and a pen. While I cleaned up the lunch mess (which always includes a glass of milk spilled by Maisy), Annie was busy writing. I put Maisy down for a nap and when I came back downstairs Annie called me over to see the list she had been working on. She informed me that she made a list of things to do and not do for Maisy. Annie told me that Maisy is a little too young right now to learn these things but that she plans to teach li’l sis appropriate and inappropriate behaviors as soon as she turns into a big girl.

The translation:

HUG-EN = hugging

HELPE-N = helping

DO NOT-CRIY = do not cry

CISEN = kissing

NOT SPLEN = not spilling

NEVR GO WOKEN BI YORSELF = never go walking by yourself

BE NIS ET YOR BB...= be nice eating your breakfast

NOT TOUCH BUNES = not touch bunnies

I’m glad that she included not touching bunnies as that is important to remember. I also like that she put equal emphasis on the dos and the do nots.

This trying-to-spell stage is probably my favorite yet.
